*These artists/designers make use of a very dark, gothic visual style, and form very jagged and grungey results from their work.

Sketchbook Development

For this assignment, we were challenged with the task to create a band logo based around a metal/rock genre of our choosing. My band's generated name was "An Alien Concept", which gave me a lot to work with in terms of visual reference.

I decided to pick a 90s Industrial Metal aesthetic, and build my materials around the visuals of damaged, sparking, rusty machinery. And have a somewhat typical, yet stylistic alien head be engraved onto the machine as the visual focal point of the logo.

Digital

For my imaginary band, we were asked to put ourselves in the shoes of the band manager. I brainstormed several ideas for merchandise that an actual band would promote themselves on in real life. Things like jewellery, phone cases, clothing, pins, wallets, etc.

In the final result, it shows a rusted, damaged computer panel with an aliens head imprinted onto it.
