Making A Mythical Creature

The Arkeline:

As the brief suggested, we could make near enough anything we desired alongside the animals. I have decided to attempt creating some living being of my own with rubbish, and it resulted in the winged; eye shaped insect that I call "Arkeline". It's very fantastical, but I wanted to create something akin to a biblically accurate angel or something from a H.P. Lovecraft horror story. I think the final product borders that line very closely.

Making Plasticine Models.

For our first session with Dwayne (Technically second, but I saw Beetlejuice 2 that day as there was a choice to go see that instead). And we were given a celebrity to make out of plasticine clay. The celebrity I was given was the famous 1970s actor, country singer, and writer (just to name a few of his talents); Kris Kristofferson.I know him mainly from the Blade films as the supporting role of Whistler, which was one of his later acting roles before he focussed on writing.

The Crow/Eric Draven

Picture
I wasn't asked to continue, but I continued on to do two more just for my own personal enjoyment. My second one was of my favourite comic book's anti-hero protagonist (and who I try to model my appearance around in real life); Eric from James O'Barr's The Crow. I managed to find some of my old, borrowed clay from graphic design classmate; Chris, and got to work on another model of my own. I really enjoyed being re-introduced to clay/plasticine from my first project on mr Kristofferson that I found myself enamoured in making another.

Shadow The Hedgehog

Picture
My final model, was of another character I really liked, and that's Shadow The Hedgehog from the Sonic games by SEGA. I felt it was a unique challenge to create another model that's a bit more within the animated, cartoony universe than set in real life. Shadow resembles more basic shapes than the realistism of a human being, so it was quite enjoyable to mould and use the scalpel for finer details.
